Okay, a bit of a first this Season. My initial reaction after this episode was.. oh!
I don't know really...it seemed kind of flat.
But saying that, there was hardly anything I disliked in fact I liked it overall. So maybe it was that the previous eps had been so full of the ongoing arc and dealing with Sam's soul that this one was quieter and dealt with some of the more emotional issues that needed airing.
Whatever it was I feel the need for a bit of a ramble.
I see the writers who did this ep were relatively new - they've only written one other ep before - and I can see why it was given to them. I have visions of the other writers not touching this ep with a ten foot pole. It must be pretty well known to them that this story line hasn't gone down well in some quarters, so it had the potential to be a poisoned chalice for whoever got the pleasure of finishing off the Lisa and Ben arc. Plus they had to incorporate a MOTW story or in this case a ghost story. A bit of a thankless task especially as the last few episodes have been awesome.
But...the writers did a good job with the emotional stuff - they really did do their homework on Dean and Lisa. And whether you like them or not as a couple, I thought their heart to heart was really well done. We kind of knew that it was coming at some point, and it felt realistic and true to their characters. And poor Ben...you have to feel extra sorry for him. I don't think we'll be seeing Lisa and Ben again though...I reckon their story is done. They've served their purpose and allowed Dean to heal from the traumas of Season 5. He may be sadder and a bit jaded at the moment but he's a much wiser and a more rounded human being than we first met in Season 1 and that is in part to Lisa and Ben.
Whether Dean and Sam are able to come to terms with all the horrors they've endured remains to be seen. At least they're both on the same page now and things are looking better for them ...more than they have for a very long time.
Okay...onwards and upwards.

Loved the opening sequence so much, with Dean desperately trying to wake Sam. I love that kind of continuity. So many times TV shows don't give us that.

The touching of Sam's hair...such a loving thing to do.

Not surprising you've one hell of a hangover...
You tell him...the past stays past...no kicking the wall.

"You shove it down and you let it come out in spurts of violence and alchoholism."

Just listen to your brother Sam. It may not be healthy but better than the alternative!

Your life maybe on the line but you sure look gorgeous.

Good thinking...a nice spooky killing to takes your mind of things.

I have no idea what a Snookie is either!

No need to offer Sam your heart...he already has it!

Checking through the security camera footage. Just like old times. :)

I agree...possessed mannequins and dolls are so damn freaky!

Yes Dean, it's your turn to go and sort out your messy past.

A lovely bit of blue-steel-interrogation-face there Sam.

Yep parent trapped.

A bit jealous?

Not got much hope there...Lisa's put her cardi on now...that's a sure sign she's not intending to let you back into her heart very easily.

Salt and Burn. Usually works so well.
But no...not this time...

I know!..I wasn't expecting that either! Whoa...a haunted kidney! Can't salt and burn that boys!

Oh no...the Impala's not being herself.....that's not good. Run!

Yes Dean...it's your baby all possessed again!! She needs a anti-possession sigil tattooed on her stat!

Okay....how on earth did she get stabbed by that shard of glass? The glass in the window was safety glass!

Oooh... a real heart to heart at last.

"I have a soul because of you."
"For what it's worth - I've got your back."

"Yeah, I know."
Unlike in Live Free or TwiHard where Dean suspiciously asks Sam if he has his back ....and Sam looked really shifty when he answered. This time they both mean what they say. *sniff*

Not exactly a lovely view ...but the scrapyard'll do nicely. Thank you show.
