Supernatural: Season 6 x 07 "Family Matters"

So much happened in this ep. I hardly know where to start. This must be the episode with some of the best dialogue ever.

At least we now know for sure that Sam's without his soul. So what exactly does it mean?
Whether a person is still the real person without their soul has Cas saying “It’s an interesting philosophical question” in way of an explanation but I think that’s probably all we’re going to get. But we can be sure they’ll be plenty if fics giving us some interesting insights. I await with interest.

And still on fanfics..
Cas taking his belt off and the look on Sam’s face!! Followed by Cas’s hand inside Sam. I can hear the slash fans squeals from here!!! LMAO

More Cas moments:

“He's speaking in tongues….you speaking in tongues?”

Cas comparing himself to the Chrysler building.

“Your problems always come first.” Cas said in that deadpan delivery of his.

Random moments:

Sam untying himself and showing that he’s not going to take anything else from Dean. Surprisingly Dean accepts it.

Christian getting his neck broken and then if that’s not enough…he’s a demon already!! I can hear the shrieks of delight from some parts of the fandom from here.

Moments with Gwen:

“In the rear with the reject.” Not the best way to endear yourself to the new family member Gwen, but Dean does seem to like strong mouthy women!

But then she did save Dean’s ass by lopping off the vamps head but he’s still got far too much pride to take her helping hand though.

“Were supposed to wait here“ said Gwen…she does take orders well….but then Dean runs off towards the gunfire, showing he doesn’t. Gwen is quickly learning about what makes Dean tick.

So far so good with her so I hope they don’t kill her off yet.

Plot moments:

I really liked the little twist with Sam asking Samuel that he wanted in…and then we find out that he was playing him. Sam’s a great poker player and now he’s soulless that particular trait is virtually perfect.
He could of course been testing the waters with Grandpa first as he now sees Samuel as family. From what we’ve seen of Sam’s new MO he does seem to want to be with Dean more. It was a win/win for him anyway though. If Samuel had said yes,he'd have gotten the intel he wanted and probably have told Dean anyway. But like Dean said 60/40.
And with Dean saying that,  followed by Sam’s little agreement expression I felt a new relationship between them being formed. It’s going to be rocky alliance but at least they’re back together again.

The Alpha Vamp:

He’s wonderful. Love this actor. He answered a few of our questions and posed lots more.
Purgatory! Never saw that one coming but I like it.

“We all have our mothers...even me.” Second ‘mother’ clue me thinks. The first one with Gwen talking about Samuel thinking she reminds him of Mary.

“You’re the one in the cage.” Loved Sam saying that considering he’s still there himself. Probably.

If the mother reference is pointing to Mary…I’m thinking that maybe Samuel has his own agenda. Maybe Crowley has offered a new life for Mary or maybe a new life for Deanna, so they can be together again.
Or I’ve a darker thought - perhaps Mary’s in Purgatory. She did make the deal with ol’ Yellow Eyes which caused Sam to be infected with demon blood and set him on his path to the Apocalypse. Maybe that’s why he’s keeping it from Sam and Dean, he knows if they knew if would hurt them.

Crowley moments:

And Crowley appeared….gotta love that demon! I just knew there was a reason why he wanted Lucifer in the cage. So King of Hell it is now then! Not your everyday punk-ass Crossroad Demon anymore. And he has some of the best lines. I love the way he talks to Dean; he can equal his snark any day and then some. Wonderful.

Sammy’s soul:

It seems logical that Sam’s soul is still in the cage and not being kept elsewhere but whether Crowley has the power to get it out is another matter. It may be beyond him but he’s not going to admit to that is he? But poor Sammy. Still in the cage with Lucifer for more than a year - so what’s that in human years? 120 years and them some. I’m thinking that if they don’t hurry up and get his soul out soon it won’t be worth having. *sobs gently into my pillow* I can hear Cas saying at some point to Dean that maybe Sam maybe better off without it.

Some fan girl thoughts:

So Sam doesn’t sleep at all. Hmmmm…so what do you do all night then Sammy? Oh yes. :)

Roughed up Sam, tied to a chair with a belt in his mouth. *fans self*

Quotes that need an icon:

“Robo!Sam”

“The wing man”

“Stuck with the soulless guy”

Final thought:

“Are you with me Dean?” Of course he is Sam…as long as you don’t mind if he smacks you around when ever he’s in the mood. Hehehe. They really do have a seriously screwed up relationship.

The dialogue quips were the best. Especially from Cas! Seriously. Wait, no, Dean's were better. "Hi, Newman."

Ugh, they were both on top of their game. Fantastic episode.

Have you guys seen the made for TV movie titled "Purgatory"? It has nothing to do with this (I'm random woman) but it was a pretty cool concept about limbo and redeption. I suppose monsters might want a chance at that. Esp. since AlphaVamp called monsters "hungry things" as if it's not their fault. Kind of.

Oooh...now that's an idea I could get on board with. Monsters wanting a shot at redemption. Somehow. I think you're on to something.

Except I've been pretty much wrong about everything so far, so better not go with that.

So by the law of averages, it's time you got one right! :)

You would think so, except by that same law of averages, you'd think the Winchesters would also catch a break.

I wonder too what Sam does at night ;)

She did make the deal with ol’ Yellow Eyes which caused Sam to be infected with demon blood and set him on his path to the Apocalypse. Maybe that’s why he’s keeping it from Sam and Dean, he knows if they knew if would hurt them.

But they already know about Mary's deal.

“Are you with me Dean?” Of course he is Sam…

I think Dean will always be with Sam. However, I do find it a bit disheartening when Dean doesn't respond :(

But they already know about Mary's deal.

I was thinking that Samuel knows or has been told that Mary's in Purgatory.

However, I do find it a bit disheartening when Dean doesn't respond :(

But we know what Dean's like ...he'll come good in the end! :)

But way back in Season 1 when Mary was the burning spirit in their old house, she and the bad spirit in their house "canceled each other out" according to Missouri. How does that fit in anywhere?
