Merlin Season 3 Episode 2

quirky_thoughtsI loved this ep especially as it took my mind off feeling pretty crappy today.
So it begins with Arthur being his usually dickish self..lol..(no offense to the Arthur!girls) He can't even find his own socks!
Morgana at Uther's bedside doing her evil stuff....that was so creepy.
Yes..the Dragon....love him...so wise....and a nice little reminder again that Merlin is a Dragon Lord.
Loved Merlin's little smirk when the Dragon said it was a 3 day walk back to Camelot. Yeah we guessed what was coming but what the hell....I loved it. Yay! Riding the Dragon....excellent.
So....the future of Camelot and Arthur's destiny lies in Merlin's hands. No pressure then
So we get to see how Arthur would fare without his servant. Yep...untidy bedroom., that figures. Plus shirtless Arthur again....for the fangirls no doubt.
Not much for Gwen to do in this ep but a lovely moment between her and Arthur.
Another lovely little moment when Merlin gives Arthur a pep talk before the battle. Arthur appreciates something Merlin does for once.
Then Arthur does his rousing battle speech...'For the love of Camelot' Yay!!! Go Arthur!
So the battle for Camelot begins....and it was so much like the battle for Helms Deep in LOTR , minus the orcs and trolls ....and much shorter.
So then Morgana invokes the Army of the Dead....shades of LOTR (again) and Jason and the Argonauts.
I always like seeing the females characters with their fighting socks on....and Morgana had a great sword fight with Merlin. Often they just flap about for a few minutes before being overpowered by the big strong hero!
I suppose it was to be expected that Morgana wouldn't be found to be the traitor just yet..but still, it was hard to take to see Uther praising her at the end.
Arthur didn't waste any time getting back to treating Merlin like the servant he is....but Merlin takes it all in his stride. I love him...he's a really great character.
